Join our team: Herts Film Office Executive

15 Jun 23

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Executive to join the Herts Film Office to promote and accelerate Hertfordshire as the premiere destination for film and TV production and filming locations. Apply by 28 June.

The Creative and Screen Industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK, with just over half of the new studio space being planned and delivered around London and the south-east coming to Hertfordshire. This rapid and large-scale growth highlights the need to put the right support in place to grow the sector and in particular, to develop a more coordinated approach to supporting film location services across the county.

Reporting to the Film Office Manager, the Executive will support the delivery of a one-stop-shop service to boost film and TV-related activity across the county. The role will require working closely with Creative UK and local authorities in Hertfordshire, as well as production companies, location managers, and film and TV studios.

The post holder will:

  • Work with the Film Office Manager to support locations and location managers with the set up and management of filming applications.
  • Become familiar with funding requirements.
  • Be actively involved in the set up and maintenance of internal procedures and processes, ensuring these are designed in line with the relevant guidance.
  • Ensure that programme audit trails are maintained and recorded.
  • Ensure that all activities are eligible and monitored and achieve the project objectives.

The post holder will also provide executive support for Hertfordshire LEP’s Creative Sector Lead, with tasks including but not limited to:

  • Organising meetings, booking meeting rooms and taking notes/minutes.
  • Administrative tasks including updating and maintaining the CRM system.
  • Managing and proactively creating and sharing content on the Herts Film Office social media channels and website to help drive engagement, working alongside Hertfordshire LEP’s Communications Team.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent administration skills, ideally with knowledge of the film and TV sector and production landscape in Hertfordshire (or a willingness to learn).

The post holder must have strong written and verbal communication skills, including very good IT skills, and have experience working with databases and maintaining accurate customer information on a CRM system. Experience of financial and general monitoring and management systems related to funding programmes would be advantageous.

The post holder must be diplomatic and able to resolve problems effectively, with experience working in a B2B customer service/customer facing role, dealing with both SMEs and senior corporate leaders.
