We are seeking a Careers Coach to join our Skills team and support Hertfordshire residents of all ages into fulfilling and productive careers.

Closing Date: 22nd September 2023
Interview Date: 2nd October 2023
Location: Letchworth Garden City/Hybrid
Salary Range: £33,820 (opportunity to progress to £37,261 per annum - pay increase pending)
Contract type: full time, fixed term until March 2025

In this rewarding role, you will provide 1-2-1 careers coaching and guidance to support Hertfordshire residents into positive career outcomes. The role is varied and, along with meeting clients, you will also engage with employers across the county, as well as education and training providers. The role will also involve participating in or running workshops, webinars and job fairs.

You will develop industry knowledge and immerse yourself in some of Hertfordshire’s fastest growing sectors including Film and TV, Green Industries, Science, Engineering and Technology. 

You will be responsible for supporting clients to achieve a positive employment outcome by identifying their skills and strengths; navigating their personal barriers and support needs; researching work placements, qualifications and training opportunities; and providing CV and interview coaching. 

The post-holder will play a key role in the successful delivery of our flagship skills programmes, including: Hertfordshire Opportunities, HOP (www.hopinto.co.uk), Skills Bootcamps and 'HOP into Film and TV', as well as work to support Apprenticeships, T Levels and higher technical qualifications within the county.

About you

You will have a coaching/careers qualification, along with a good understanding of the Hertfordshire Skills and Employment landscape, and an ability to be adaptable, supportive and tenacious. Experience in an advisory role is preferred.

You will need to be able to build rapport with a variety of people, including those with barriers to the labour market and be able to motivate them to increase their career opportunities and move into employment or apprenticeships.
