North Herts College’s Hart Future Talent programme encompasses an expanded and improved range of courses across IT, Sports and Creative Media, designed to equip young people with the skills that local employers seek.
The courses are delivered in modern facilities using high quality, industry standard equipment purchased with the help of LEP funding, to enrich the learning of the college’s creative arts and sports students. This includes 35 MacBooks, performance tracking devices for elite athletes, drones, 4K cameras and lighting. The college's Mac Suite was opened in October 2018.
Why?
The LEP is committed to nurturing a skilled and capable workforce to safeguard Hertfordshire’s future economic prosperity. Our investment in technology will provide young people with the opportunity to gain practical experience using industry-standard equipment, to ensure they are equipped to meet the expectations of employers.
Impact
The programme is expected to result in 478 additional learner starts across four years, 140 of which will be apprenticeships.
Funding
Hertfordshire LEP invested £95,462 from the Local Growth Fund, with £116,676 match funding from North Herts College.
