Film & TV Production: Supply Chain Innovation programme

Knowing how the film and TV industry works, understanding what decision-makers are looking for and being able to shape your offering to meet their demands can spell the difference between you or your competitors benefitting from this lucrative market.

About the programme

The Supply Chain Innovation Programme is aimed at local business leaders from the film and TV production ecosystem, helping them make connections and develop their proposition to establish and enhance their role in the supply chain. The programme builds on the phenomenal success of Hertfordshire Futures' pilot 'Service Innovation Programme' of 2022, in partnership with RCA and Estu and is part of the Create Growth Programme. The next available cohort is due to start in January 2025 - apply here

What can businesses expect? This programme is delivered in association with industry influencers and major studios, providing insight into service procurement and trends.  In weekly workshops and tutorials delivered over 8 weeks, you will be guided by world-class teaching to use tools and processes on your commercial opportunities.

What are the outcomes? You will build business value, developing and implementing plans to create exceptional customer experience, collaboration and innovation. As a direct result of working together, businesses from our pilot programme have won new contracts, are developing new services and have secured external funding. Learn more.

What is the cost? The programme is majority funded by Hertfordshire Futures. A contribution of the remaining £500 + VAT is required from each business.

Eligibility criteria: Businesses creating employment in Hertfordshire are eligible to apply for the programme. Up to two individuals from each business may join live online workshops. Places are limited.

Application process: Completion of a short application form will be followed by a telephone business review. This will cover existing activities and potential growth areas that could be supported by the programme. Applications will be reviewed by a panel. Panel decisions are final, and places are awarded at the sole discretion of Hertfordshire Futures.

The learning experience

Through curated and facilitated group exercises, you will be taught to use the tools, templates and processes used by the world’s leading brands to create value - applying design thinking to your business. Results include enhanced services, new collaborations, and new contract wins.

You will learn from business growth experts at Estu and the Service Design team that have contributed to the RCA being ranked Number 1* globally for Art and Design teaching for the last eight years. To achieve this, RCA consistently placed ahead of 249 other institutions including MIT, Stanford, Yale, NYU, University of Oxford, University of Tokyo and Design School Kolding, Denmark.

You will be joined by industry guest speakers and executives from the programme's studio partners, sharing experiences, building relationships and gaining unique insight into commercial opportunities in the Film and TV Production sector.

The programme includes three face-to-face workshops to facilitate networking culminating in the programme’s grand finale at the new facilities of Sky Studios Elstree.
